Nice things that happened today
I got a formal letter, from the Registrary no less, saying I'm back full-time from the start of June. That ends my last major uncertainty for plans this year.

I got my first payslip of the new financial year and, having corrected HMRC's assumptions about my taxable income from lodgers, I am 50 pounds a month better off.

James took me to Tesco for a big household shop, and found me a cheap digicam for Charles to play with, and had a really good go at the lawn.

My neighbour Vahit spontaneously helped me unroot a particularly tough bramble stem.

I got to the pub for a short while.

Charles went to sleep before 9:30pm and I managed not to fall asleep too.

So, who wants to be an astronaut then?

In summary, the European Space Agency is recruiting for new astronauts. The initial application will need to be submitted between 19th May and 15th June 2008. Among the requirements to apply is a JAR-FCL 3 Class 2 pilot medical certificate, or certain equivalents.

No, I don't have one of those, but I can think of at least three people who can tell me how to get one.
