Engaging smug mode again

I was expecting results for the last set of OU modules I took to come in at the end of next week but two modules came back this evening.  And I am very pleased.  (The rest is behind a cut for boasting.)

The one that I cared about most, Management Accounting is another Distinction.  I knew I had the chance given my coursework results but I really didn't think I'd done well enough on the exam to match it.  "I don't think I've embarrassed myself." I wrote after taking it.  No, I did not.  Imagine me doing a victory dance.

Engineering the future (which is the fancy name for an intro-to-engineering module) was one of my optional-credit choices. All I really needed to do for this was pass, and I got a good pass in the 2.1 range, which is more than enough to make me happy.

I've run the numbers and it's actually possible now for me to get a First - if and only if I can keep up this standard on my current year's workload.  I've not let myself believe that was possible before, my goal is "a good 2.1", but the dangling prospect of a 1st is ... um well, a bit intimidating really.  I'm trying not to want it too much.

(Nothing yet for module number three, which was another optional-credits requirement, and I chose to do Introduction to Financial Services.  It turned out to fit even better than I'd have guessed against management accounting.  Like the engineering module, I just need to pass, and I am certain that I have, it's a just a question of by how much.)

Wow, congratulations! And quite honestly, I think managing to do any study at all while looking after two children, plus working, not to mention health issues esp long-term fatigue, is an amazing achievement in itself - to get great results on top of that is definitely the icing on the cake! Smug mode entirely justified :-)
